In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the FFIEC does not exclude from the participation in, deny the benefits of, or subject to discrimination under, any program or activity conducted by the FFIEC, any qualified individual with a disability, solely by reason of their disability.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires that when developing, purchasing, maintaining, or using information and communication technology, the FFIEC ensures individuals with disabilities have comparable access to and use of information and communication technology as that of individuals without disabilities, absent undue burden. The U.S. Access Board publishes standards establishing the technical and functional performance criteria information and communication technology must meet. More information on Section 508 and the technical and functional standards can be found at the U.S. Access Board.
The Architectural Barriers Act requires that individuals with physical disabilities have ready access, and use of, buildings and facilities built, designed, constructed, altered, leased or financed with federal funds, by or on behalf of the United States after August 12, 1968.
