Where are the financial reports located on NIC?

All financial reports are available from the Institution Profile page. From the menu bar, select the “Institution Search","USBA Search", or “Top 50 HCs” search from the menu bar.

Where can I find CALL Report data for Banks, Savings and Loan Associations, and other thrift reports including Credit Unions?

A link to other regulatory agencies is provided from the Institution Profile page. Click on the link to search for financial reports, when available, at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) if the institution is a credit union, or the link to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) for CALL Reports, Savings and Loan Associations, and other thrifts reports, if available.

Bank Find at FDIC's web site may be use to search for historical information for these types of institutions as well.

The FDIC Certificate Number is provided and will be displayed on the Institution Profile page. The FDIC Certificate Number, when available, can then be copied and used when searching for reports on the FDIC web site.

Why do I get an error when I am trying to view or save the report?

You need Acrobat Reader 9.x/higher installed on your machine to view the financial reports. The settings for the Acrobat Reader may not be installed correctly; before requesting financial reports please verify the System Requirements. The Acrobat Reader may be downloaded free from Adobe.com.

I requested a financial report, but only lines were displayed, no data. What is wrong?

When a large amount of data is returned, it is compressed to fit on the page; this is often the case when Performance Ratios (PDF) are requested. There are two ways to view the data online. Use the ‘Zoom In Tool’ to magnify the page, or click on the magnification button in the status bar area.

Where can I find copies of blank report forms that are used to collect financial data?

The link listed below will take you to the Federal Reserve Board’s site for report forms. http://www.federalreserve.gov/apps/reportforms/default.aspx

Is the Bank Holding Company Performance Report (BHCPR) available on the NIC public web site?

You can access the BHCPR, which is available for Bank Holding Companies, by following these steps.

  1. From the NIC Home Page, click the "Institution Search Page."
  2. Enter the search criteria for the institution and click on the Search button.
  3. From the Institution Results page, click on the institution name and the Institution Profile will be displayed.
  4. The BHCPR is located in the "Financial Data" section of the Institution Profile page.
  5. Select an As-Of-Date, and click the generate report button.

You can also access the BHCPR for all of the Top 50 HCs that file the FR Y-9C form by selecting the "Top 50 HC" search link from the menu bar in Home Page. Once a user clicks on the institution name, another page will appear displaying both structure and financial information related to the institution. Under the "Financial Data" portion of the page is the ability to select a BHCPR for the FR Y9-C filers. FR 2320 filers are currently not required to submit all of the data necessary to create a BHCPR, thus no BHCPR will be available for FR 2320 filers. The user will only be able to view the FR 2320 form.

Additional information on the BHCPR is available in the manual, A User's Guide for the Bank Holding Company Performance Report. This manual is available in electronic format at the following URL: http://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/supmanual/

How can I find detail on the calculation of the items included on the Bank Holding Company Performance Report (BHCPR)?

The manual, A User's Guide for the Bank Holding Company Performance Report, defines the items and ratios included on the report. This manual is available in electronic format at the following URL: http://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/supmanual/
