INSURANCE NATIONAL AGGREGATE INFORMATION SHEET
The private mortgage insurance companies
have arranged through the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to prepare the national
aggregate reports on behalf of the institutions reporting information on the disposition of applications for
mortgage insurance. They are reports of the Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) data in table format.
Depending on the reported data, there can be up to 21 tables, showing the number and dollar amount of lending,
cross-tabulated by loan, applicant, and geographic characteristics. Individual institutions' data cannot be
identified in the national aggregate reports. The PMI national aggregate reports are available on the
Changes for 2012 Data
For calendar year 2012, to categorize census tracts by income we rely on the
2010 Census and
2006-2010 American Community Survey (ACS)
Five-Year Estimates to determine the median family income for each MSA/MD. For
categorizing applicants or borrowers, we rely on information obtained from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC)
for an updated estimate of the median family income for each MSA/MD. The use of the decennial Census 2010 and of the 2006-2010 ACS Five-Year Estimates
in creating the Aggregate tables has resulted in a column change for Table 9 and the deletion of Table 10.

The year ranges for the Census Tracts by Median Age of Homes were recategorized to 2000-2010; 1990-1999; 1980-1989; 1970-1979; 1969 or
earlier; and Age Unknown.
Removed: Table 10
The principal city flag was not able to be updated using the 2010
Census and 2006-2010 ACS Five-Year Estimates. Consequently, Table 10 was deleted for CY 2012 PMIC data.
