A Guide To HMDA Reporting: Getting It Right!

The Guide is a valuable resource for assisting all institutions in their HMDA reporting. It provides a summary of responsibilities and requirements, directions for assembling the necessary tools, and step-by-step instructions for reporting HMDA data. The Guide is posted on the Internet only; paper copies are not available. The versions of the Guide used for collecting and reporting CYs 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2007 HMDA data are now available on this page. 2010 A Guide To HMDA Reporting PDF File

The 2010 edition was updated to reflect the MSA changes to Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice, FL; Fort Walton Beach-Crestview-Destin, FL; and Weirton-Steubenville, WV-OH to Vero Beach, FL. Census made a couple changes to county codes in Alaska, separating Hoonah-Angoon from Skagway-Hoonah-Angoon (232) and assigning Hoonah-Angoon (105) as a separate small county; and giving a new county code 230 to Skagway. There were also some changes made to the text.

2009 A Guide To HMDA Reporting PDF File

The 2009 edition was updated to reflect MSA changes to Cape Girardeau, MO/Jackson, IL, Manhattan, KS, and North Mankato, MN. Also updated were the rules for reporting price information on higher-priced mortgage loans for which the application was taken on or after October 1, 2009, as well as other minor changes made to the text.

2008 A Guide To HMDA Reporting PDF File

The 2008 edition was updated to reflect minor changes to the cover page and Appendices A, D, F and G.
