FFIEC InfoBase

The "FFIEC InfoBase" was created by the Task Force on Examiner Education to provide field examiners of the five-member financial institution regulatory agencies a fast source of introductory training and basic information on specific topics. The five FFIEC member agencies are:
  Federal Reserve Board
  Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
  National Credit Union Administration
  Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
  Office of Thrift Supervision

While the initial distribution of the first topics was provided on a CD ROM, the design has been replicated to this Web site for availability to all agency examiners via the Internet using high speed access, a standard Web browser, and minimal plug-ins. The long-term goal of the InfoBase is to provide just-in-time training for new regulations and topics of concern to examiners.

Overview for Users
	This FFIEC InfoBase contains resource documents, audio presentations, and interactive training material for FFIEC agency examiners.
	InfoBase resources are organized to support independent study and research and are not presented as formal linear training.
	This InfoBase was designed to run on platforms that meet the minimum software and hardware specifications. Although those using other platform configurations and software versions may be able to view the InfoBase resources, predictability of results cannot be guaranteed. .
	The use of browser settings other than manufacturer defaults may also produce unpredictable results when viewing this InfoBase.

Navigating the InfoBase

To start using the Financial Privacy InfoBase, select Table of Contents, Training Resources, Software Installers, or Additional Resources from the InfoBase Control Pad.
Select Table of Contents to view a screen that allows you to select the way in which you wish to look at a list of Financial Privacy InfoBase resources. You may view the resources in alphabetical order, by agency, by document type, or chronologically. From a Table of Contents, you can select any InfoBase resource you wish to use. Resources types are linked by the following:
	Document Title	Printed resource documents
		Audio presentations
		Documents
		Interactive training material
Select Training Resources to view a list of all Financial Privacy InfoBase training resources. These resources include 12 audio presentations, documents related to the presentation topics, and an interactive practice exercise.
Select Software Installers for downloading: - Flash Player - Acrobat Reader - Internet Explorer - QuickTime Player (Alternate Player) Note: This InfoBase was designed to work using software and plug-ins supported by individual agency IT departments. If your computer needs any of these applications or updated versions of the application, consult your agency's IT policies before installation.
Select Additional Resources to view a set of Web links and e-mail addresses that can lead you to resources for supplemental information on Financial Privacy.

Trouble Shooting: Because of the diversity of hardware and software throughout the five regulatory agencies, it is possible that some combinations of workstations, operating systems, software, and network software will not effectively play the Flash Presentation. If you have problems running presentations from the InfoBase Flash Training Menu, there are alternative versions of the presentations that you may want to try. - QuickTime versions of the presentations can be accessed by clicking the Alternative QuickTime Menu link at the top of the Training Resources Menu. - For users that can not access the Flash or QuickTime formats, alternative PDF versions of the training presentations with the narration text are available from the Table of Contents.
