Software Installers

Overview

To use the InfoBase, you need three applications:

• A browser application to view InfoBase HTML pages - Any version number of Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator above version 4 may work, but full function of the InfoBase is assured only with Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher.
  

• Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher to read and/or print the InfoBase resource documents

• One of the following browser plug-in applications to view and hear the InfoBase presentations
  
  

  • Flash Player 4.0 or higher - Note that your browser version may include Flash Player without the application being listed in your system's application menu.
  • QuickTime Player 5.0 or higher - This player is an alternative for users with workstations on which the Flash presentations do not play all properly. QuickTime also offers expanded playback functions for the user. QuickTime versions of the presentations are accessible from the InfoBase's Training Resources page.

Installation

These four software applications are available free of charge. Click an icon at the top of this page to go to an Internet site for downloading the respective software applications. Note that you must be connected to the Internet in order for the links to work properly. Once you are connected to the appropriate Internet site, you need only follow the site's instructions to install the software application onto your computer.

These links may be used to add or to upgrade previous versions of the three applications. However, you should consult your agency's IT policies before installation.
