If your institution is to resubmit its data for any reason, a complete resubmission of all data should be sent for ANY CHANGES to the loan application register following an institution's initial HMDA submission.
Manual changes will no longer be accepted via e-mail, fax or telephone. All corrections or updates to the loan application register following the initial submission are to be completed by the institution. The institution should then RESUBMIT an entirely new file inclusive of all loans for the applicable reporting year; partial resubmissions should not be sent.
Transmit the entire corrected file via Internet e-mail, CD-ROM, or diskette. Clearly mark your resubmission as a “Complete Resubmission of CCYY data” along with your institution name and RID number/agency code in the subject row of your e-mail submission. Also include the reason for your resubmission along with the other information asked for in the Internet e-mail, diskette, or CD-ROM file specifications (for example, institution name, respondent ID number, agency code, processing year, contact name, phone number, and LAR count being transmitted). The resubmission reason and all other information are placed in the text of the e-mail; when using diskettes or CD-ROM to resubmit, the information should be typed or clearly printed and included in the mailing.
(1) HMDA submission is greater than 350,000 LARs. Less than 10 field corrections should be written on the edit report and faxed to 202-452-6497. Corrections exceeding 10 should send a complete resubmission after correcting the data. This exception is only applicable to institution's who have submitted greater than 350,000 LAR.
(2) HMDA submission contains 25 or fewer entries and is submitted in paper form. Less than 10 field corrections should be written on the edit report and faxed to 202-452-6497. This exception is only applicable for institution's who submitted an initial paper copy LAR with 25 or fewer entries.
