The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Call Report Agencies (FDIC, FRB, and OCC) have modernized the production and distribution of the Uniform Bank Performance Report (UBPR). UBPR data and reports are now available to the public through the CDR Public Data Distribution (PDD) Web site (https://cdr.ffiec.gov/public/).
The CDR calculates and distributes UBPR data in a more efficient and timely manner and provides users with expanded capabilities. The improvements include the availability of bulk UBPR data at no cost to the public; enhanced custom peer grouping functions; the provision of formula information in a machine-readable, open standard format; and more frequent UBPR data updates. Additionally, the CDR delivers all reports found on the current UBPR Web site, standardizes the format of each report, and significantly expands the range of information provided in the state average report.
Financial Institution Letter: Modernization of the Uniform Bank Performance Report
The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) Call Report Agencies (FDIC, FRB, and OCC) developed a new secure, shared database for collecting and managing quarterly Call Report data. The Central Data Repository (CDR) was successfully implemented in October 2005.
The October 2005 implementation of the CDR marked a revolution in the way that Call Report data are collected, validated, managed and distributed. Under this new system, institutions file their Call Report data via the Internet using software that contains the FFIEC’s edits for validating Call Report data before submission. Call Report software vendors modified their software to incorporate these edits, including the reportability edits which flag Call Report data that were not reported by a financial institution but should have been.
